1) Fumiharu Yoshimine: Mudai (1st and 2nd movement);

N.B.! you can practice this piece on an instrument of your choice: alto recorder, renaissance alto, tenor, etc. But always read soprano/tenor-fingering. Decide what works and sounds best for you.

 Practice advice:

both movements: be informed about the extended techniques used or have your questions ready for the class

- 1st movement: while practicing, pay special attention to semi-quaver chains so you are able to play all the notes (it’s easier than it looks).

2nd movement: think of your own choice and order of fragments. Prepare three different versions of this of max. 2 minutes.

BONUS 3rd movement: if you can play sputato already: put on the metronome on very slow and have fun with this.

2) Frans Brügge: 5 Studies for finger control No. 1, 3, 5

Practice advice:

- practice at a tempo you can keep throughout the whole movement. It doesn’t need to be fast, but steady.

- Use a metronome for practicing. Start half tempo of what you think might become your final tempo.

3) J.S. Bach: Brandenburgischen Konzert Nr. 3, 1. Satz (arr. for 10 recorders by Joris) :)

Heinrichshofen, N 2721

Practice advice:

- find two different recordings of this piece with a period instrument orchestra, listen to them (for instance on Spotify, YouTube), write down their names and tell us whom you listen to.
