Shipping Fees

NOTE: Orpheus Music ships both to Australia and Internationally. 

We offer Free Shipping within Australia for all orders over $100. This offer is for Parcel Post only - if you require Express Post or any additional services such as Signature on Delivery, charges will apply.

This website uses a 5 stage checkout: 1 - Summary; 2 - Sign in; 3 - Address; 4 - Shipping; 5 - Payment.

Shipping Estimator: For Australian orders under $100 and for International orders, there is a Shipping Estimator installed that provides an accurate estimate of shipping costs  at Stage 1 (before an item is added to the cart). On an item's page, click More, and once on the item's  More Information page, the Estimator will appear. As each item is added to the cart, the Estimator keeps a running tally of shipping costs. 

At Stage 4, the detailed  Shipping menu appears, at which time the customer can choose between the various options available. 

All items are sent using the Australia Post MyPost Business system, which records a tracking number for each item sent. Unless you direct us otherwise, your email address and your mobile phone number will be entered into the MyPost system. This ensues that you receive tracking details/notifications directly from Australia Post. If you do not receive tracking details for your parcel, it is possible that in the past you  have requested no notifications from Auspost (this may have been for some other transaction that has nothing to do with Orpheus Music). Turning notifications back on is a matter between the customer and Australia Post (we do not have access to those details). 

Sheet Music : Items are packaged in: Small orders - Tough Bag envelopes with an additional sheet of cardboard for added protection; Medium orders - a small custom made box that is then placed in a plastic postage satchel; Large orders - packed in a box.

Recorders and Accessories: Most recorders (except for basses) are dispatched using Australia Post Satchels, or boxes for larger orders.  Bass recorders (including Great bass, Contrabass, Subgreatbass and Subcontrabass) are dispatched in boxes.


Sheet Music and Accessories:  goods dispatched using Australia Post Express are insured by Auspost up to a value of $100. Please contact us if you require additional insurance.

Recorders: All recorders dispatched by Orpheus Music are automatically insured for their full value at no extra cost to the customer.

Delivery of Physical Goods

After ordering online, you will receive an email confirmation from Orpheus Music containing your order details. We will normally confirm receipt of your order within a few minutes of ordering. We will usually send your goods via Australia Post within 2 working days of receiving the order; however, if goods are temporarily unavailable delivery will take a little longer. If you wish to query a delivery, please contact us at

Delivery of Digital Goods

After ordering online, you will receive several emails from Orpheus Music containing:

- an order confirmation containing all the details of your transaction

- an email indicating that your payment has been successful

- a link to the product(s) you have purchased. Please click on the link in order to initiate the download process. This link will expire 1 week after your purchase, so please don't forget to download your digital products. We cannot be held responsible for re-supplying products that have not been downloaded before the link expires. Please note that the download link email may be in your Junk Email folder

Ordering Out-of-Stock items

Orpheus Music endeavours to keep a high percentage of listed items in stock. However it is inevitable that from time to time items will be temporarily out of stock.

Currently the website is configured so that out-of-stock items cannot be ordered. You are welcome to email us and make sure we know that you want the item - that way we can make sure it is included in the next order we place with the relevant supplier.

There is also a notification system in place: if you navigate to the item's More Info page, you will find a space there where you can enter your email address. The system will then send you an automated email the moment the item is listed back in stock. 

Ordering of Unlisted Items

Orpheus Music has an extensive network of Publishers, Distributors and Agents. If there is some recorder music you would like to order that we don't have listed, please contact us and we will try and locate it for you.


If you are not satisfied with your purchase, please email us at within 7 days of receiving your goods so that we can resolve any problems. Refunds/returns do not apply to goods which have been worn or used, damaged after delivery, or if any attempt has been made to alter the product or if it has been dropped or broken. All products must be returned in their original condition. All postage and insurance costs are to be paid by the buyer. Orpheus Music will not be responsible for parcels lost or damaged in transit when they are being returned.

Sheet Music and Accessories: If the goods you purchased from us are either faulty or substantially different to the advertised product, we will give you a money back guarantee if you contact us regarding the problem within 7 days from the time you received the goods. 

Recorders: If the recorder you purchased from us is either faulty or substantially different to the advertised product, we will give you a money back guarantee if you contact us regarding the problem within 3 days from the time you received the goods. The short turn-around time of this guarantee is necessary because of particular issues surrounding the "blowing in" of a new recorder.
