What are Orpheus Music Publications (OMP)?

Orpheus Music publishes Australian recorder compositions for recorders. We represent over 70 composers, with more than 300 works that provide a wide range of styles and genres for one to ten recorder players.

We recently celebrated 25 years of Orpheus Music Publications and workshops, and we continue to publish new works every year for the recorder.

Orpheus Music publishes contemporary recorder music featuring such composers as Diana Blom, Nigel Butterley, Zana Clarke, Justo Diaz, Lance Eccles, Ross Edwards, Malcolm Tattersall and Benjamin Thorn.

Purple covers, red covers?

Red covers are for solo recorder or solo recorder with accompaniment (piano, guitar, harpsichord). Purple covers are for recorder ensembles - duos, trios, quartets, etc…

Green covers are our young composers series.

What’s with the Lizards?

Our logo features two lizards that create the form universally associated with the myth of Orpheus - the Greek lyre.

We also have a gang of recorder and early music playing lizards! They are our mascots and were commissioned by Orpheus Music for special events.
