Contemporary Tenor solo with voice. This beautiful solo includes preface in German with explanation of musical symbols. Below is an English translation of the notes.

The rain dance has been used in many places for centuries as a ceremonial dance ritual to bring about rain or to drive away evil spirits. Indigenous peoples scattered all over the world in various cultures (Africa, Indians, but also in the Balkans or the Middle East) developed their very own tradition that has survived to this day. The first part of my composition stands for the reflection on the ritual, for the initial meditation - you can even hear the rain clouds brewing here! This then develops into a very rhythmic circle dance, following strict step patterns – you may hear a few raindrops falling during this trance-like dancing). At the end, the movement leads back to meditation and friendly sounds. The evil spirits have been driven away, the longed-for rain has soaked the earth. It could be that you fall into a trance even during the performance and want to hit the dance floor. You're welcome to do that too - I just want to warn you that it could put a rainy end to the wonderful sunny weather in Hamburg...
