Concerto for Four Alto Recorders – G.P. Telemann 

Something Baroque to start with!

In this charming work, all four parts are quite even in terms of number of notes and difficulty, although Alto 1 does have more high notes. The Concerto is great fun to play in ensemble – as are all works by Telemann.

Jazz Triptych for Recorder Quartet – Greg McKernon

A change of mood and chance to get a more layback feel in the room, with two delightful works that will allow us to explore a slightly more chromatic and rhythmic repertoire.

Lauda Anima mea Dominum – Orlandus Lassus (1532 – 1594) (My soul praise the Lord)

Derelinquat impius viam suam – Teodoro Riccio (1540 – 1600) (Let the wicked forsake his way)

We will complete our musical exploration with two Renaissance motets, concentrating on ways you can make a vocal piece come alive instrumentally.
