OMP 061 Lance Eccles Spiders

Another piece from Lance Eccles' ever growing catalogue of recorder music.  These three pieces are musical depictions of three short poems by Lance Eccles on the subject of a trio of Australian spiders - the Redback, Orb Weaver and Funnelweb.  We hear the Redback catching and eating her prey to a hypnotic compound time ground bass and the Orb Weaver wrapping her catch in silk by an oscillating rhythmic pattern shared between the parts.  Meanwhile the Funnelweb dashes out on the town looking for love to a flurry of running quavers.  All four parts get an equal slice of the action in these three attractive pieces which are ideal for an intermediate level ensemble.
