*Baroque Trio Sonata.*

1. Andante
2. Vivace
3. Adagio
4. Allegro

The trio sonatas by Georg Philipp Telemann are unequalled for diversity of scoring and 'varied taste'. Recommended to students and players of every epoch, they still deserve their contemporary Quantz judgement: 'He (the beginner) should take well wrought Duets and Trio, written by thorough masters with Fugues in them for practice and spend some time on them. This will be very useful for reading, keeping time and learning rests. For this, I particularly recommend Telemann's Trio in the French manner, of which he wrote many, more than thirty years ago - if one can get hold of them, for they are not engraved in copper'.

So reads the title page of the manuscript source. The undated three copies of the parts were practically faultless and it was no problem rendering them into modern type. Completed articulations and ornaments are bracketed. The realization pf the unfigured Basso part has, as usual, been purposely kept simple.

Score: 10 pages. 3 parts @ 3 pages ea.
